Taking Responsibility
Practice: Catch yourself every time you find yourself blaming outside circumstances or people & ask yourself what is the one thing that you can do to improve your situation.
Happy Friday!
And welcome to today’s edition of ‘Conscious living with Purnima’. As you know I have changed the format of my weekly newsletter to include one practice to put into action.
Today’s practice involves paying attention to our tendency to find faults with things that are not in our control. And making an effort to change that.
Recently I had a personal experience of being sucked into the negative energy of complaining and finding fault with someone in my life. So much so that it began to give me physical pain. Thanks to my self-awareness practices, I realised what I had done to contribute to my pain. I had unconsciously slipped into a very disempowering state of mind.
Complaining & finding faults, either with our life situation or with people in our life, can never bring any positive result. We already have that wisdom in our heart that tells us that the only person we can change is ourselves. But we have the tendency to forget this. I hope my post today serves as a reminder for you to be mindful of your proclivity to finding faults & criticizing the world around you. Pause, catch yourself from slipping too deep, and redirect your mind to what ‘you’ can do to make your situation better that does not depend on outside circumstances or people.
Listen to this week’s practice and put it into action as soon as you can.
I will see you next week with another useful practice to help you live life with greater awareness & consciousness that can have the power to increase your personal freedom & add more ease into your life.
