Happy Sunday!
And welcome to today's edition of 'Conscious living with Purnima'. In today's post I share with you two life lessons. Hope you relate.
Lesson 1: You can achieve anything you set your mind on.
Being successful in any material endeavour, be it making more money, becoming skillful at something, or achieving better health or fitness is a function of knowing what needs to be done & doing it determinedly.
Right Knowledge + Right Action can make you successful.
Of course, the path is never straightforward or easy but it's definitely achievable.
“Everything is possible. The impossible just takes longer.” - Dan Brown
Now the more important lesson 2:
Lesson 2: Achieving what you set your mind on is not going to solve all of your life problems.
The uncertainties of life will persist, you might still feel unfulfilled, and happiness may continue to be elusive.
So, does that mean you should not go after your goals?
No.
You should go after your goals. But knowing that the larger issues of life will still remain the same, gives you a better perspective and you can approach your goals in a more balanced way.
You also realize that people who seem to live your ‘unlived life' also go through the same uncertainties as you and there is not much of a difference between you & them, except for them being better players than you in the game of achieving greater material success in whichever area of life you choose to compare.
Infact a deeper introspection might make you realise that it's probably not even a game that you want to play.
When we know that life's bigger problems remain the same no matter how much or how little we achieve, we can keep our head on our shoulders and see things clearly.
We can choose to not replicate other people's success stories and find the courage to pursue our own hearts longing and be curious about where that path might take us.
“Your heart knows the way. Run in that direction.” - Rumi
And if we do find the courage to pursue our hearts longing, I suspect we would be led to a beautiful destination. However, we might have to take that journey alone.
What do you think? Did the lessons resonate with you? If they did, then do leave your thoughts in the comments.
