Happy Friday!
And welcome to today’s edition of ‘Conscious living with Purnima’. There are only 2 more weeks to go for this year to end :-) It’s a good time to reflect on the learnings of this year and to set some goals (goals that speak to your heart) for the future.
Today’s post will provide you with a basic guideline for approaching your new goals. Hope you find it useful.
1. Set a SMART Goal:
This is important. The vaguer your goal is, the less clarity you have in your head on how to go about achieving it.
Listen to my Podcast on ‘how to set a smart goal’ for guidance.
2. Create a Process:
You know that to reach your goal you need to take certain actions. Be clear on what those action steps are. Take help from an expert if you don’t have clarity on this. You should be clear on what actions you need to take and how you will take them on a consistent basis.
Put this down & build a process/system that you can adhere to.
3. Obsess over the process & not the outcome:
Now that you have a process in place, ensure you stay compliant to it.
4. Find ways to make the process enjoyable:
If you are not enjoying the process, then your journey will soon become dreary. So, use your creativity, & self-knowledge to remain enthusiastic enough to stick to the process until goal is reached.
Sounds so simple, isn’t it? :-) It is when we learn to let go of our attachments and understand the laws of “Cause & effect”.
Now reflect on some of your own goals that you are working towards.
🌸 Have you defined the goal in a SMART way?
🌸 Do you have a process/system to achieve the goal & are you obsessed enough over adhering to the process?
Do take the time to answer those questions. Feel free to comment or write back to share your goals with me :)

कर्मण्येवाधिकारस्ते मा फलेषु कदाचन । मा कर्मफलहेतुः भूः मा ते सङ्गः अस्त्वकर्मणि ॥ Meaning: “Let your concern (or focus) be on your action, let it not be on the outcome of the action.” (Bhagavad Gita, Verse 2.47)
When the outcome drives the process, we will only ever go where we've already been. If process drives the outcome we may not know where we're going, but we will know we want to be there. - Bruce Mau
Reminded of mahabharat during school days....
Wonderful Puri. As always, you come up with a compelling topic to engage the reader. The icing on cake is the quote from BG, loved it.
